Sixteen Tons (Premium Sumatra Single-Origin • Medium-Dark Roast)

Thick industrial infrastructure. Sixteen Tons drops a dense, heavy-duty single-origin Sumatran medium-dark roast built for the longest shifts. Sourced from the high-altitude Gayo Highlands and processed via traditional wet-hulling, this Sumatra coffee ain't that weak, see-through wooder—it’s a massive, earthy powerhouse loaded with dark chocolate and dried fruit notes that stand tall all day.

The Real Deal:
Look, most commercial roasters take low-grade Asian coffees, bake them until they are chalky, hollow, and burnt, and sell them as 'dark roast' filler to un-suspecting operators. We don't roll like that. Sixteen Tons is a pure specialty-grade powerhouse sourced straight from smallholder farmers in the Aceh and Takengon regions of Sumatra, operating under the elite KBQB cooperative. Grown at staggering altitudes up to 1,600 meters, these rare Tim Tim and Typica lots are processed using traditional Giling Basah (wet-hulling) to lock in an unmatched structural weight. We small-batch roast it to a rich, heavy medium-dark profile to maximize its massive, unshakeable body while preserving its distinct regional character. No artificial tricks, no cheap commercial scrapings—just pure, muscle-bound cargo.

How it Tastes:
Thick, rustic, and massively full-bodied. It completely commands your palate with an intense, syrupy mouthfeel loaded with heavy baker's dark chocolate, deep forest earthiness, and concentrated back-notes of sweet dried fruit. Because it’s an authentic, specialty-grade Sumatran single origin, the acidity is incredibly low, yielding a robust, velvety cup with a legendary, long-lingering finish that carries you through the toughest hours of the grind.

The Architecture (Specs):
Sourced from smallholders in the Aceh and Takengon regions of Sumatra via the KBQB cooperative. Features Tim Tim and Typica varieties grown between 1,100 and 1,600 meters in rich volcanic loam soils. Processed using traditional Giling Basah (wet-hulling) and meticulously small-batch roasted to a heavy medium-dark configuration.

The Setup:
Scoop it heavy, grind it coarse for a French press or brew it hot and strong, mind your business, and let this heavy-duty infrastructure anchor your daily rotation.
